Stuttering Success Story: Nidhish's Story

Welcome to the Stuttering Success Story! Here is Mona's Story

Nidhish lives in India and is a task consultant. In just two months using Michael Wiliams’ Pro90D stutter-free speech program, Nidhish saw his speech transform. Before getting help, his speech was like a “machine gun”—very choppy and very fast. He used to speak without thinking, but after the sessions, he now speaks in a composed manner and says whatever he wants to say. He can “express himself to the fullest.”

Before seeking stammering treatment, he feared presentations or speaking in front of his senior management and colleagues. He couldn’t express what was on his mind, and his focus was always on the mechanics, not the content. This affected his career, and he never got any promotions.

Nidhish did many things to try to improve his speech. He conducted internet searches to find clues. He visited various doctors and speech therapists to learn how to stop stammering. Nothing worked. He also sought out any kind of medicine to cure him because he thought what he had was a disease.

He found Michael’s online speech therapy for stuttering and did the exercises for six months when he decided one day that he needed one-on-one help with Michael as a professional speaking coach. He made this decision when he did a particular presentation that went badly. He got completely lost, even though he had practiced beforehand. He felt bad because he knew the content, but he just couldn’t speak well. He then immediately sought out Michael’s personal stammering therapy. That was a turning point.

Now, Nidhish’s daily routine starts with affirmations. He literally shouts out loud that he’s the best speaker in the world. He also listens to multiple sessions by Michael per day and does a practice called modeling, which is copying how another person speaks well. He copies things like elongating words. He uses the blending technique to keep his airflow intact as well. Each day, he uses various exercises throughout his entire day. He even listens to Michael’s stuttering therapy techniques now while at the gym instead of rock music.

Nidhish has totally immersed himself in the courses, and every day he can feel the changes that are happening. He estimates he spends 2-2.5 hours per day, spread out throughout his day, like during his workout or when driving.

Nidhish recalls a recent success, and it shows how confident he feels now that he can speak well. He has several successful speaking experiences under his belt, which has boosted his confidence. For example, he used to dread work calls with other countries. He would always get stuck. Now he doesn’t have to think; rather, he’s just focused on what he’s saying. He doesn’t have to prepare before his calls, when he used to have to prepare a lot. Now his manager just hands him a call, and he reads the notes once and makes the call. He’s also addressing the crowd during presentations. He asks and answers questions from this audience. When he does get lost, he stops, takes a deep breath, and continues speaking.

Nidhish chose the Pro90D stammering therapy program because he liked the personal advice. When he would see doctors, he would get some instruction and be sent home with a book to read. It would always leave him feeling badly because the advice would be to speak slowly, and he didn’t know how to do that. He found Michael by coincidence through an internet search. Before that, he watched some of the free videos and used those exercises. He saw enough success to make him believe that there was something to these programs.

He had a hard time following through with other programs because there was no teacher or anyone motivating him to do the exercises. In addition to Michael’s personal help, he could see that each step was a systematic step in his Pro90D program—each step linked to the next. He knows the money he’s invested in Michael’s stammering treatment course has not been wasted because he has seen improvement.

Nidhish learned the program in English and then transferred the techniques to his native language. In fact, his mother first thought he was crazy when he slowed his speech down so much when first working on improving. That didn’t discourage him, and he kept speaking slowly so he could continue to experience improvement. Since then, he’s sped up his speech to a normal pace.

But he had to take the criticism when he was practicing slower speech until he improved because it was part of the process. For Nidhish, this was about his passion to improve his speech. He found this in his second month because passion was what was missing to move to the next level in learning how to stop stammering.

For others struggling, he says you won’t believe how much you’ll improve until you try it yourself. He’s been where you are if you’re frustrated with your speech. He took a chance that the Pro90D stammering treatment program would work, and it paid off. For Nidhish, there’s nothing better than having the ability to express his thoughts. His goals increase day by day, and he eventually wants to be a brilliant speaker.
